The lady of the camellias

Alexandre Dumas, author "Count of Monte Cristo", "the Three Musketeers", "Queen Margot", has proved that it is able to compete with the great father. Twenty-four years he wrote the novel "the lady of the camellias" (1848), which began all over Paris. The plot is based on a real story of a fatal beauty, courtesan Marie Duplessis, who died young from tuberculosis. The novel was made into a play, which had a resounding success, the tragic love story of Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duval, the eternal feminine and the eternal victim, Giuseppe Verdi used in the Opera "La Traviata". But unlike the camellias the plot is not faded: there were three ballets, two dozen movies, comics, theatre performances — in a word, "the Lady with camellias" was destined for immortality.
