The Ambassador of Norway found murdered in a Bangkok brothel. In Oslo in a hurry to hush up the scandal and sent to Thailand, police inspector Harry Hole: he has to investigate confidentially as possible. Once in the low places of Bangkok, among the opium houses and strip bars, Harry gradually discovers that the murder is not so obvious as initially thought. Cockroaches rustling behind the baseboards.
