Nekrasov - one of the most divisive and controversial figures in Russian poetry. Turgenev in 1860-1870-ies repeatedly declared that the poetry of Nekrasov "poetry and did not sleep". Dostoevsky put Nekrasova directly behind Pushkin and Lermontov. The problem is that Nekrasov proposed a different system of coordinates: a new look at the problem of the poet's new poetic themes, even the new verse system. Nekrasov has really come in Russian poetry with a new word, which not all his contemporaries (and descendants) were willing to accept and recognize.
