Description
Mordechai Richler (1931 – 2001) — one of the world's most famous canadian writers. His book — "Who is your enemy," "Street," "Barney's Version" is used successfully in Russia.
The life of Jake Hersh, a young canadian, who went to England to become a Director, it seems to be well: he's popular, successful, and he has a wonderful family. But Jake's childhood is not haunted by a single dream — the dream of the Jewish Diaspora after the horrors of the Holocaust, after the pogroms and humiliation — to find the vigilante (Jake calls it the Rider in the Rue Saint-urban), which will repay all anti-Semites, and most importantly — Mengele, the Doctor of Death. The search for vengeance bring Jake with criminal types, because of what he is in virtue of absurd accidents falls under the court.
Thanks to alloy thin lyricism, sparkling humor and biting sarcasm, many critics consider "the Rider street, St. urban, the" best novel of the writer.
