The library of Apollodorus is a monument to the era when the knowledge of mythology was no less binding for the Greek or Roman than a Holy book for medieval philosopher-theologian. It is the only ancient collection of myths, which shows the ancient history not found in other sources. In the "Library" come to life ancient legends about the creation of the world and the Argonauts, the labors of Hercules and the Trojan war... it was the book of Apolodor was first translated into Russian language even in 1725 on the personal order of Peter the great and became one of the first books of the Russian civil press.
