The Hour Of The Ox

Socio-philosophical novel "hour of the Bull" is one of the main works of the founder of modern Russian fiction, philosopher and scientist-paleontologist Ivan Yefremov. The novel is set on a distant planet Tormance, many years ago was host to the humans who left the Earth on the brink of disaster. Civilization of Tormance is frozen at the stage of totalitarian "state capitalism", hopeless and hopeless. By chance there is a space ship with the new Earth. Through the clash of two worldviews, the author highlights the many challenges and contradictions of development of human society. Thus is born a kind of dystopia, warning the world about the dangers lurking in the rapid progress immoral civilization.
