Alone

"Alone. Reflections" — a collection of aphoristic thoughts of Marcus Aurelius, written in the Greek language (Koine) in the 70-ies of the II century, during the war on the Danube border. He enjoyed undoubted success in the late antique time, and in the sixteenth century was revived in European philosophical circles.
These personal notes reflect the relentless pursuit of the Emperor not only to be guided in his attitude to the doctrine of the Stoics, but also to develop it further, calling the lead early in the man not the soul, but the mind that needs to be put in harmony with nature a whole, reaching thus the dispassion.
