The great Giordano Bruno, fleeing from the Inquisition, escapes to England. In this country, where for a quarter of a century on the throne sits the Queen protested, still strong opposition of the adherents of the Catholic faith. The Royal court Bruno gets the job - to go to Oxford, the secret stronghold of Catholicism, and to feel the threads of the plot against the Queen. Ibid at Oxford seems to be hidden longed for him a book containing the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe. However, the exposure of the conspiracy and the quest of the book is unexpectedly complicated by the fact that in this quiet University town takes a number of mysterious murders that Bruno is taken to investigate.
