Had already written "the house of the Dead", "Notes from underground", "Crime and punishment", "Idiot" and other masterpieces, and Dostoevsky still had an acute sense of dissatisfaction and, by his own admission, only approached the chief to his work. In 1871 and 1872, he published his sixth novel with geeky and symbolic title "the Demons". Fascinating drama, exciting plot, raging passion and extraordinary, wild events "under a glass bell" the provincial town, is one of the greatest works of not only Russian, but also world literature.
