"Resurrection" — Tolstoy's last novel, it reflects the spiritual and creative quest of the last years of the writer's life. Launched in 1889, the novel was finished and was released only 10 years later, in 1899. In the Russian press many scenes and even chapters were prohibited from publishing. The novel "Resurrection" were among those works of Tolstoy, because of which he was excommunicated from the Church. Today the novel is read differently. The tragic story of the spiritual revival of the tired light of Prince Nekhlyudov and charged with murder of katarzynki Katyusha Maslova became one of the greatest works of world literature of the XIX century.
