Description
The novel tells the story of Patriarchal Jewish family, whose centuries-old roots were chopped revolution. Changes caught the older generation by surprise, it has been unable to adapt to a new life, with young naive faith in a brighter future joined the ranks of the builders of socialism. The author Moses Kulbak, writer, poet and playwright, greeted the revolution with hope. He has proven himself a master in all genres in which he worked, but many of his ideas not be realized in time. He was arrested in 1937 and shot soon. Roman "Selinene" was published in Russian first and only time in 1960, after his rehabilitation.
