Description

A classic of Polish literature, an honorary academician of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences, Henryk Sienkiewicz was a brilliant historical novelist. Like Hugo, Dumas, Tolstoy, he was able to describe the great events of bygone eras, paying attention and personality of the person – the Creator of these events. In 1905 Sienkiewicz was awarded the Nobel prize for literature with the wording "For outstanding achievements in the field of epic".
One of the best works of the writer, the result of his many years of work was the novel "the Crusaders" on the brutal confrontation between the poles and the crusaders and the romantic love of a young Polish beauty and her brave knight.
