There are people who need no introduction. There are books that do not need annotations. Diary of Paola Volkova – just the kind of book someone like that. Who was Ola Odessa and how she became Paola Volkova, always perfect, that which is adored by contemporaries and which we admire. She seemed to be personally familiar with all of the Great from different eras – she knew artists and actors, sculptors and filmmakers, poets and architects – if I had lived at one time with them and was their Muse.
Paola D. – the Soviet and Russian art historian, doctor of arts, cultural historian, honored worker of arts of RSFSR. He graduated from the Moscow state University (1953) on the specialty "historian of art". He taught at VGIK at the Higher courses for scriptwriters and Directors. Paola Volkova is the author and host of the documentary television series "bridge over the abyss" (2011-2012) on the history of world art for the TV channel "Culture".
