Eugene Onegin

A novel in verse "Eugene Onegin" is the most known and most significant work of A. S. Pushkin, the summit of Russian poetry and the subject of numerous studies. Pushkin began writing the novel in may 1823, and finished in the autumn of 1831, when it was written in "Onegin's Letter to Tatyana". In the autumn of 1823 he wrote to friends: "...I now write not a novel, but a novel in verse — the devil of a difference..."
