The enchanted island. New tales about Italy

The collection called “the Enchanted island. New tales about Italy” was conceived by Association “Premium bitter” in connection with 100th anniversary of the first publication of “Tales of Italy” by Maxim Gorky. Capri has always attracted creative people, and the Association decided to contribute to the literary history of the “island of sirens”. In 2012-2013, the number of well-known Russian writers were invited to make the trip to Capri and then to write the text associated with this island. The composer of the collection became known italianist and translator Gennady Kiselev, Peru owned by an introductory essay. In the end, the greatest modern authors (from Maxim Amelin until Vladimir Sorokin) presented in this book are very different in genre and style of works that share a single source of inspiration— the magical island of Capri.
