Michael Ides — journalist, publicist, writer. Was first printed back in his native Riga, in the newspaper “Soviet youth”. Then with his parents moved to the U.S., where, after studying at the University of Michigan as a script writer, was published in The Village Voice, New York Magazine, GQ and others. Became a three-time winner of the National Magazine Award. In 2012 he moved to Moscow to become the chief editor of the Russian version of GQ. Simultaneously with the journalistic materials Ides writes fiction in English and Russian. His debut novel “the Grinder” was released in 2009 and became a bestseller. “Ches” — a collection of short stories Idova different years and the brand new, just written a novel, which gave the name to the book.
