Description
Prose and poetry writer Nina Berberova (1901-1993) — "the first Parisian lady of Russian literature", according to the publisher-contemporary. In 1922 she left Russia together with V. Khodasevich, not thinking that forever. Until 1950, lived in Paris, after he moved to the United States, where until the end of days has taught at Princeton.
Her famous autobiography "Italics mine" (1969) became a sensation and an international bestseller. A fictionalized biography of the composers Tchaikovsky and Borodin, mysterious Maria benckendorf-Budberg recognized as a new word in the genre.
In the book "Block and his time", written in 1947 in French and for French readers Nina Berberova recreates the life of a poet against the background of events of the late XIX — first quarter of the XX century.
