This book was published for the centenary of the Zionist movement, which was launched at the First Zionist Congress. However, the author did not seek to strictly chronological presentation when addressing the major issues and events of Jewish life in the twentieth century. In essence, this is a book about the Jewish problem that led to the birth of the Zionist idea and its implementation, ranging from statements Herzl in Basel, he founded the Jewish state, and to the continuing disputes about the ways of development and the prospects created by the state.
