Description
The monograph is devoted to the image of the Jew in Slavic literary and folk traditions. Based on historical and folklore and ethnographic sources, the authors examine such concepts as "the Jewish people", "Jewish faith", "Jewish customs", etc., which was formed in the folklore and literature of the Slavic Nations on the basis of the whole complex ethnic and cultural stereotypes. The study is based on authentic material collected in the Russian and foreign archives, and during the field research in the regions that were included in the pale of settlement (Western region of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Eastern Poland).
