From the scepter of Judah the scepter jester

This book, the first Russian monograph on the history of Sephardic Jewry, is located at the intersection of two research traditions - perepischiki and Judaica - and shall consider such relevant in the modern medievalism topics as court culture and favoritism, ethnic and religious opposition foe, the perception of natural and artificial stupidity and insanity, semantics and aesthetics of buffoonery.
On the material of Castile and Sephardic chronistic and Spanish courtly poetry and burlesque literature of the turn of the middle Ages and Renaissance portraits are created court adviser and court jester of Jewish descent - as the two roles to the same actor as two successive stages in the development of the same phenomenon.
