New York: the history of the city

The embodiment of the American spirit and all that is associated with the United States in the view of foreigners, should justifiably be considered the new York city skyline and the statue of Liberty, Broadway and the famous "numbered" streets and avenues, Harlem, wall street, Greenwich village and Brighton beach. Even those who have never been to America, at first sight learns new York in photographs and in films - so the image of this city disseminated by Hollywood blockbusters. Frank Sinatra sang "new York, you like this one, the first one always and everywhere" - and indeed, another of the city.
