Description

Don-Aminado - this is not the Soviet Union! - enthusiastically exclaimed Babel in 1927, after reading several of the satires of the poet in the Paris newspaper "Latest news". In the mouth the famous author of "konarmiya" it was the highest praise, especially because at that time in the Soviet Union worked and Zoshchenko and Ilf and Petrov, Yevgeny Zamyatin, and Panteleimon Romanov, Mikhail Bulgakov and Vladimir Mayakovsky, and Valentin Kataev... However, making allowances for enthusiastic, explosive Babel, it should nevertheless be acknowledged that, perhaps, such a universal humorist-satirist in those years was not at home. He wrote satirical poems and verse satires, gorgeous slim, psychologically accurate, humorous stories, plays, humorous miniatures of all kinds, finally aphorisms. He was thrust into their works a variety of topics (from a purely domestic to political) that deserved the name of the scholar (albeit humorous). And at the end of life published a book of memoirs, "the Train on the third track" which will undoubtedly remain in Russian literature as a vivid and comprehensive portrait of the exile portrait of an epoch.
